He was admitted in Bucharest Bar Association on May 1st, 1999 and he started his legal career in one of the biggest law practices of that time in Bucharest. Valentin Trofin decided to start his own practice and founded his Law Office where another 2 exceptionally young lawyers were handling the Office’s practice. In the following year Iulia Trofin joins the practice as a fulltime lawyer.

Valentin Trofin and Iulia Trofin decided to set up a professional law firm having both as founders. Trofin & Asociatii was founded as a boutique law firm specialized in construction industry and corporate law.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2003″]New Partners and Associates

Trofin si Asociaţii SCA was set up having two partners and 3 associate lawyers. The main area of expertise at that time was corporate issues, mergers and acquisition, construction agreements & disputes, real estate and litigation.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2003″]Since then, Trofin & Associates had been involved in more than 50 construction or real estate development projects with values ranging from Euro 10 million to Euro 70 million.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2004″]The firm become well known for its professionalism and leading voice in construction projects and real estate development.  Since then, their practice increased, being now experienced in mergers and acquisition, intellectual property, employment law, real estate development, insurance claims, banking & finance, public procurement, international commercial or investment arbitration and domestic litigation.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2007″]The firm was involved in many cross-border transactions especially in Turkey, Russian Federation, North Africa and Republic of Moldova. Iulia Trofin was admitted to National Union of Notary Public from Romania and she had to withdraw from her position of partner of the Firm, starting a new career as Notary Public.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2009″]Every year firm’s dispute resolution practice is involved, in average, in representing the clients in more than 70 litigation and arbitration cases, with a peak in 2009 – 2012 when they were involved in more than 200 litigation and arbitration cases each year.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2013″]Oana Cuciureanu join the team

Oana joined our team in 2013 as a senior associate. Currently, she coordinates the litigation department of our law firm. Her experience relates to FIDIC agreements and other construction agreements, being specialised in negotiations and pre-court matters.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2016″]Alexander S. Popa join the team

Specialist in copyright and IP issue, Data protection, pharma and nanotechnology patents and IT&C, Mr. Alexander Popa is a well-known lawyer in this field of activity.[/os_history_entry][os_history_entry event_date=”2016″]Romanian Government appointed them, as co-counsel, to represent Romania in an investment arbitration in a dispute of hundreds of millions of Euros under the rules of ICSID Washington D.C.
